Regina Region to Benefit from Merger of Two Economic PillarsThe Regina Regional Economic Development Authority (RREDA) and Tourism Regina have recently announced a decision to merge. Both organizations play key roles in relation to economic growth and development in Regina and area.

Global Transportation Hub updateThe RM of Sherwood and the City of Regina have agreed to terms for completing annexation of the lands designated for the Global Transportation Hub. This crucial step means construction of the necessary water and sewer infrastructure can soon begin, and further investment will follow. RREDA is currently working in partnership with the City, the Province and the University of Regina to develop a strategy to market the Global Transportation Hub within Asia and North America.

2009 Progress2Capital Business Planning Competition OpenThe fourth annual Progress2Capital Business Planning Competition is in progress. Entrepreneurs and business owners were encouraged to enter the 2009 competition by February 9 to compete for a large PRIZE POOL, make valuable connections and give their businesses a greater chance at success.

RREDA heading to National Job Fair in TorontoRREDA and Tourism Regina will be part of a contingent of Saskatchewan organizations participating in the 2009 Spring National Job Fair and Training Expo in Toronto March 31 to April 1. RREDA is attending the event to continue to promote the Regina region as a great place to live, work and do business.

Enterprise Region UpdateUnder the Enterprise Region Program, RREDA has expanded and become responsible for an area about three times the size of the previous region. RREDA is orchestrating town hall forums in February throughout the expanded Regina Enterprise Region
